Doug Hylan Plywood Lapstrake Kits
Doug Hylan is a Maine boatbuilder and designer based in Brooklin, just down the road from us on the Blue Hill Peninsula. His designs reflect a working knowledge of what these boats actually have to do — row well, sail well, take a beating, and look right doing it. Hylan's catalog runs from the trim 13-foot Beach Pea up to the 26'6" Bowler, with classic New England working-boat lineage running through nearly every line. We CNC machine the full Hylan kit catalog under license. Plans are sold separately by DHylanBoats.com, with the Oonagh sailing dinghy sold through Off Center Harbor.

A few questions specific to Hylan kits:
What's the difference between the Beach Pea rowing and sailing versions? The sailing kit includes additional parts for the rig, daggerboard, and rudder. If you think you might want to sail eventually, it's easier to order the sailing kit upfront than to retrofit later.
Where do I get Hylan plans? Plans are sold directly by Doug Hylan at DHylanBoats.com, with the exception of the Oonagh, which is sold through Off Center Harbor.
